What's new

New in Swim Meet Portal.

We add to Swim Meet Portal between meets, not once a season. Here is what changed lately, newest first, and who will notice.

October 2026

  1. College and high school meets

    HostsSwimmers and families

College and high school swimmers sign in with their name and birth date, and heat sheets show each swimmer's school year.

See it on the Features page
  2. Setup sheets you can tap

    HostsCoachesSwimmers and families

The coach and swimmer setup sheets have a QR code you can scan or tap, and the steps to put Swim Meet Portal on a phone's home screen.

See it on the Features page
  3. A check for mistyped email addresses

    HostsCoaches

When an address looks mistyped, such as one ending in .con, the app asks "Did you mean" and offers the likely fix.

  4. The Meet Form check New

    Hosts

Setup > Meet Form reads your meet form, points out mistakes like a weekday that does not match its date, compares it with Meet Manager and suggests settings you can apply or skip.

See it on the Features page
  5. Need Help? on every admin page New

    Hosts

One button opens tips as you type, the guide by topic and the SMP Assistant, which answers questions from the full guide. If you are still stuck, send us a ticket from the same page.

See it on the Features page
  6. Live finals scratch status New

    CoachesSwimmers and familiesFans

The results link is called Live Results everywhere. After prelims, everyone can see live who scratched from finals and who declared an intent, so families know when a swimmer has moved up.

See it on the Features page
  7. A new public meet page

    HostsFans

The meet's public page wears the meet's colours, with tiles for the documents and Live Results that read well on a phone.

  8. Session start times checked against Meet Manager

    Hosts

When Meet Manager's start time for a session changes, Setup > Config says so and offers to move SMP's time and its deadlines to match.

  9. Score projections: your own what-ifs New

    Hosts

Drag swimmers into the order you expect, then switch between With your changes and Without to see what it does to the projected scores. Reset all puts everything back.

See it on the Features page
  10. A new Recon tab

    HostsCoaches

Recon issues sit in four lists: Open issues, From coaches, Special characters and Resolved. Coaches can send a fix for their own swimmers, and you accept it or turn it down.

See it on the Features page
  11. Score projections for meet hosts New

    Hosts

Reports > Projections estimates the team scores from seed times, prelim results and your meet's point table, before the meet, after prelims and live; they are not official scores. A version for coaches is coming soon.

See it on the Features page
  12. Live team scores and high point

    CoachesSwimmers and familiesFans

At meets with the full Live Results page, team scores and high point sit next to the sessions and update as events are scored.

See it on the Features page
  13. Invite an admin

    Hosts

Accounts > Invite an admin emails a helper the meet's admin code and how to sign in, with a note from you.

See it on the Features page
  14. A simpler Config page

    Hosts

Setup > Config shows one line per setting, so the switches for a meet are easy to scan and change.

  15. Swim-offs settled with Meet Manager

    HostsCoaches

Pick the winner of a swim-off, or let Meet Manager's swim-off results decide, then publish the plan. The Bridge writes the places into Meet Manager.

See it on the Features page
  16. Coach good standing

    Hosts

At USA Swimming meets in Southern California, coaches are matched to the SCS coach report and the host sees who is not in good standing. It is a note, never a block.

See it on the Features page
  17. Meet types

    Hosts

Tell SMP what kind of meet it is: USA Swimming age group or senior, high school or college. The app then uses that meet's own words and sign-in.

See it on the Features page
  18. Protected finals

    HostsCoachesSwimmers and families

Keep the slowest final for younger swimmers. A Protected pill marks it on the results, and SMP reminds you to set the same rule in Meet Manager, which seeds the finals.

  19. Official results and the SCS package

    Hosts

Reports prints official results for the events Meet Manager has marked done. Southern California meets get the SCS Post-Meet Package in one place.
